Water softening plant is recommended for the removal of calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+) ions. Calcium and magnesium are often referred to as 'hardness minerals'. Softeners are sometimes even applied to remove iron. The softening devices are able to remove up to five milligrams per liter (5 mg/L) of dissolved iron. This help in producing soft water by strong acid cation exchange resins in sodium form, which removes calcium and magnesium ions from the water. We design a series of softeners that have counter current regeneration with up flow rate and co-current regeneration with down flow rate. De-mineralisation plant is recommended for the removal of mineral salts from water by using the ion exchange process. A Typical two-bed DM Plant consists of two Pressure vessels connected in series along with its internal fittings.
